Persuasion centres around Anne Elliott, who was once persuaded by her family and friends to turn down a proposal of marriage from a young naval officer Frederick Wentworth because he was poor. Eight years later Anne has lost her bloom and her father has spent far beyond their income meaning the family must move to Bath. However, Anne's love returns but she has no hope that he could still love her after she broke his heart.
