Mansfield Park was the third of her novels to be published in her lifetime in 1814 by Thomas Egerton, a London bookseller and publisher. She remained anonymous, though the novel was published "By the Author of Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice".

The novel received a  second edition by a different publisher, John Murray, in 1816. John Murray was also responsible for publishing the works of Sir Walter Scott, Washington Irving and Lord Byron.
